My Story

Hi everyone.

My name is Donna Hawley and I'm an adult instructor for the ACF in Yorkshire N&W. Every year, I try and do different challenges to raise money for Army Cadets. This year's challenge will be one of the toughest challenges I have ever faced. I am biking from LONDON TO AMSTERDAM in 4 days on the 7th / 11 August 2024

The ride was supposed to be from London to Paris but has changed due to not enough cyclists for the event, I was gutted was an understatement and I have had to change all my travel arrangements too, but people know me,  so when they said there is a ride from London to Amsterdam I jumped at the chance, I will be cycling with a group of people I don't even know too.

I will be biking nearly 300 miles and over 6000 ft (roughly just over 4,000 ft the first  day) which I have never done and this will be the toughest challenge I have ever done (mentally and physically).

I've done tandem skydives, brave the shave, walking home for Christmas (168 miles in 4 weeks), Liverpool to Leeds in one day and London 100. These are just a few of the charity things I've done. This will be my 3rd challenge that I will complete to help the ACCT raise funds.

As an adult instructor in the army cadets, this event I'm doing will help all cadets achieve so much in their cadet career, and help them go on junior, and senior annual camps and band camps (to mention a few).

So, can you please help me with ting my target of £2000 and help change and improve the lives of the young people in the Army Cadet Force?

No matter how small the donation, every penny counts.
